On this day in 1965, UCLA defeated Michigan 91-80 to win its second consecutive NCAA championship (and second of 10 in 12 seasons). Gail Goodrich, whom coach John Wooden liked for his “poise, quickness, and speed” led the Bruins with 42 points.
